Aviation Security Screening Course

The Aviation Security Screening Course provides a solid foundation for personnel protecting the airside of an aviation security checkpoint. Based on ICAO, IATA, and TSA standards, this course details the process for screening passengers and their baggage. Students will learn how to properly use common security detection equipment such as X-ray systems, hand-held metal detectors (HHMD), and walk-through metal detectors (WTMD). Students will gain an understanding of how to perform a physical search of passengers and a hand search of their baggage to ensure prohibited articles, contraband, and threats are detected during the screening process.
